This is a proposal for a site-specific
installation in one room of a 100-year-old Carriage House. Three piles
(approx. 3'x6'x1') of powder substance lay on the floor. Life-size photo
transferred images of 3 persons sleeping, a child's image on Talc power,
a woman's image on flour, and a man's image on plaster powder. Each
image is directly transferred onto the power. Thrusting an object through
the window with a handmade slingshot creates one hole in each corresponding
window. On the outside of the window each object is covered with a glass
bell jar. The windows face the east, so the rising and setting sun is
the only light source. And throughout the run of the exhibition the
powdered images become unclear and distorted because of the wind blowing
through the cracked windows.
